Mr. Carlos Roybal

Mr. Carlos Gallegos spent a significant portion of his life behind bars—but his story didn’t end there. With courage and conviction, he made the decision to rewrite his path. Carlos entered a 30-day inpatient treatment program, laying the foundation for his healing and transformation. He then joined the Salvation Army Men's Harbor Light program, where he committed fully to his recovery, graduated with pride, and emerged with renewed purpose.

Today, Carlos is gainfully employed—bringing his lived experience, resilience, and work ethic to Fit 4 Recovery and Sweetgreen, where he serves part-time. His journey is a powerful testament to what’s possible when opportunity meets determination, and when systems of support are rooted in dignity and hope.
